- Dental Implant
A dental implant is used to replace missing teeth. The implant is generally made of titanium , a rounded cylinder about the size of the root of the tooth . Like a hip implant , the bone must integrate around the dental implant for about three to four months. Once the integration is successful a stub (called an abutment) is screwed down inside the implant. The abutment sticks above the gum line and the crown is then made to fit the abutment. This entire procedure done by an experienced team is highly successful.
Dentistry is the branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and the adjacent and associated structures and their impact on the human body.
